Rider's have commented that they find the Cair System allows them a close feel to the horse. This, combined with the open seat and adjustable knee roll allows for free range of movement over fences and a good sense of security.

They are fantastic design for the wider natives & to be honest there is no saddle on the market that I would choose over one of these, they are so comfortable & put you in the correct position and give you the comfort and support you need to do schooling and hacking.
I then decided to purchase another one for another home bred black welsh section d stallion we have and again we love it, I hope to be out competing in it this season.
I can’t recommend these saddles enough for anyone losing the will to live thinking they can’t have a dressage saddle for there native because nothing is wide enough they need to try the Bates Wide Dressage!

The saddle provides the ultimate connection with the horse through a seamless, ultra narrow transition from the rider’s seat through the length of their leg. Anatomically shaped seat eatures an extremely narrow waist, eliminating any interference and sitting the rider closer to the horse. An extra deep seat gives the feeling of sitting ‘into’ the saddle, rather than ‘on’ the saddle and positions the rider directly over the horse’s centre of balance.
Seamless transition from your seat through the length of your leg results from the interface of the panel and saddle flaps. You will feel your leg drops straight on to the horse with no interruption.

High performance panel features the CAIR® Cushion System for dynamic cushioning of your horse’s working muscles, eliminating pressure points and evenly distributing your weight over the full bearing surface of the saddle. Effortless horse and rider alignment is achieved through altering the positioning of the Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar, enabling the rider control over their preferred riding position.
Maximised stability and comfort for your horse is achieved through the Adjustable Y-Girthing System that offers the ability to achieve even pull from the front and rear of the saddle. It is critical that this system be adjusted evenly on both sides of the saddle, there are markers sewn on to the Velcro to enable you to assess this more easily.
Opulence
Select models feature soft milled, Opulence Leather on the exterior of the saddle, renowned for its ultra-soft and grippy characteristics, ensuring immediate rider comfort, security and reducing any ‘breaking in’ time traditionally associated with new saddles.Models featuring Opulence Leather often offer additional features such as a recessed stirrup channel for the ultimate in close contact, wear patches for added durability and key innovations in rider comfort and adjustability such as an Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar. Luxe Leather is hand-selected from the finest calf-leather in the world and meticulously cared for throughout its specialised tanning process. This will guarantee exceptional performance in strength, richness of colour, ultra-soft feel and level of grip to meet the unique demands of an equestrian saddle. Leather is a natural product and as such any marks, scars or colour variations within the Luxe Leather are not a fault and add to the individual character of your new Bates Luxe Leather saddle.
