Ideal saddles are a market leader in the manufacture of quality saddles. Ideal believe that the saddle is the connection between horse and rider and one of the most important elements of their partnership. Here at David Dyer Saddles we stock a large range of Ideal GP, jump and dressage saddles.
We do not hold full stock of these saddles so saddles may need to be ordered in.
This saddle was designed after much demand from our retailers who were familiar with the fit of our Suzannah Dressage saddle. The 1650 GP is an all-purpose saddle constructed on the same tree as the Suzannah with the exception of the stirrup bars being located slightly further forward enabling a more all-purpose riding position. We recommend this saddle for Hacking, Flatwork, Hunting, General Riding, Training and Jumping!
Please note that sale saddles are new, but may have minor signs of wear as they may have been used in a saddle fit.
The AST is an established junior jump saddle built on our own tree with the cantle shaped to allow an open yet secure seat. The ergonomically designed front & rear blocks are positioned to offer support without restriction.

A new addition to our wide fitting range, this is a GP saddle designed upon a new hoop head tree to suit extremely wide horses. As in conjunction with broad thin flocked panels it gives maximum stability to a difficult-to-fit sector of the market.
Shown here is a VSD cut version with a straighter flap and panel.

This modern single flap saddle has been developed in conjunction with top riders to fulfil the need for closeness to the horse but without compromising on fit, and has a close contact panel. The tree has a flat rake cantle for the more open seat, ideal for X-Country and with a free swinging girthing system it allows fitting flexibility.
These saddles are designed for higher wither horses.
Since its launch the Jessica has been a true winner. It was originally designed to meet the demand for a comfortable, affordable and functional Dressage saddle. It has met with constant praise from both riders and the equestrian trade alike and is now one of the most respected dressage saddles on the market. It features a semi deep seat on an open head tree with wide centre channel and even bearing surface.
Developed for the adult show competitor, this saddle is designed on the Jessica tree with a straight show cut flap and panel.
A modernized version of the International Event, a true general purpose saddle. This model has slightly larger knee rolls with soft kneepads incorporating ghost padlines to enable fold. It also has a multi cell soft seat as standard and an increased panel surface area.

The Ozelle has the same tree as the Ideal Deal GP, Ideal Deal Jump and the Ideal Rebecca.
This saddle was developed in conjunction with Marjorie Ramsay and is offered on general release with her kind permission.
The saddle is designed to sit close to the horse by the use of very flat panels. Removable Velcro knee rolls are available on this saddle on request. Please note that 12" - 13.5" are special order (please see expert comments below).
The Ideal Ramsay can be made on a 12", 13" or 13.5" tree if required. If ordered in this size they use a very similar tree which is has a slightly narrower seat to balance such a small saddle.
This saddle is same in design as our Suzannah 1650, but is constructed on a tree with a narrower waist, therefore will suit the more petite rider.
