The Centurion II is Stubben's premium monoflap dressage saddle, developed for the demands of advanced dressage riding and designed to meet the highest requirements in the upper performance segment.
The Centurion II offers much space for the rider to find their natural balance and provides reliable support even on horses with large, expressive movement. The deep seat delivers a stable and supportive riding feel without restricting freedom of movement. A softly contoured knee area creates a smooth transition to the thigh block and comfortably supports the rider’s leg.
From a technical standpoint, the saddle stands out due to its innovative external thigh block. This block can be individually adjusted without tools in just a few moments to achieve an optimal leg position. The key advantage is that neither the clean appearance nor the stability of the block is compromised. This level of individual adjustment is a unique feature that is not possible with conventional monoflap saddles.
The entire construction is shaped by the goal of maximum closeness to the horse. The wide seat area at the seat bones combined with the deep seat and narrow twist allows the rider to feel every movement of the horse and apply seat aids with exceptional precision. The monoflap construction wraps closely around the ribcage when girthing and further enhances direct contact. A targeted reinforcement in the panel beneath the gullet helps prevent pressure points improves weight distribution and together with the broad weight bearing surface ensures a high level of comfort for the horse.
Visually the Centurion II impresses with elegant details such as the discreetly integrated stirrup leather keeper and a flowing precisely defined line design that harmoniously connects all elements of the saddle.
Like all Stübben saddles the Centurion II is handcrafted in our workshop in Kempen Lower Rhine Germany using only carefully selected high quality materials and raw components.

This saddle offers comfort and close contact guaranteeing the best freedom of movement to the horse.The narrow and deep twist makes the rider closer to the horse for a winning performance. The fit is outstanding for short and muscular horses, also thanks to the panels that are shaved in the front part to give the maximum freedom to the shoulders. The saddle comes with the F23.0 - Trapezium Pad for a perfect fit.
WHAT IS IT? It is a technology applied to the tree consisting of two membranes positioned in the rear part of the tree, where the rider’s ischial bones rest.
BENEFITS The membranes help increasing the comfort and stability of the rider. In the female rider’s case, the sense of comfort and stability is even more evident on the trees that provide a wider seat in the back
Heritage leather upholds the traditional European practices of natural oil and wax tannage. The high oil and wax content of this performance leather ensures optimum suppleness and enhanced rider grip.Characteristic of the finest natural leather, the leather is heavily pre-oiled with visible shade variations, often being referred to as a ‘pull up’ leather with a traditional, if not distressed aesthetic. The depth of colour is dependent on the infused oil content within the fibers of each particular hide. The distinctive tones of colour are particularly visible when the leather is bent as the colour lightens returning over time to its original colour as the oils migrate back through into the fibers.
Opulence
Select models feature soft milled, Opulence Leather on the exterior of the saddle, renowned for its ultra-soft and grippy characteristics, ensuring immediate rider comfort, security and reducing any ‘breaking in’ time traditionally associated with new saddles.Models featuring Opulence Leather often offer additional features such as a recessed stirrup channel for the ultimate in close contact, wear patches for added durability and key innovations in rider comfort and adjustability such as an Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar. Luxe Leather is hand-selected from the finest calf-leather in the world and meticulously cared for throughout its specialised tanning process.
