Our team of friendly SMS qualified saddle fitters and independant saddle fitter parnters provide professional saddle fitting and adjustment services.  We see a wide variety of breeds in all different shapes and sizes and face the ever-changing and sometimes challenging conformation of today’s sports horses head-on.  We are constantly adding new saddles to our stock and have over 40 brands and 700 saddles, all have been selected to ensure our product range has something for every horse.

Horse welfare and saddlery innovation are at the heart of our business.  We love to explore new products and test improved saddle technology.  The saddlery industry is changing and we are changing with it; changeable gullet plates, shoulder-free panels, pressure-tested girths, and bridles are a few examples of the advancement in the equine industry and all can be found at David Dyer Saddles.

We undertake saddle fitting and checks over most of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, and parts of Essex.

Independent Partners - these are self employed saddle fitters who share David Dyer Saddles stock but work independently, they have their own pricing structure and admin process.

Take 1st left onto Watery Lane. Go to the end of Lane and turn left. Go over the roundabout and we are 100yards on the right.

Checking your current saddle

Our team is happy to check the fit of your current saddle and make any adjustments required. As a rule, we recommend that you have your saddle checked by an SMS qualified saddle fitter at least twice a year. Horses change shape regularly throughout the year depending on grazing, fitness, and age.

However, if you have recently purchased a new saddle from us, we would recommend you have it checked within three months of purchase, as horses can change shape more quickly under a new saddle. Also, saddles that have wool flocked panels generally require a top-up of wool after being ridden in as the wool settles into place.

For more information on knowing if your saddle needs adjustment, read our blog here

Second hand saddles

We sell good quality second-hand saddles on behalf of our customers. If you would like to try some of the second-hand saddles advertised on our website you will need to bring your horse to our yard in Kent for the appointment (BR7 6HA).  You can request an appointment here.

If you're interested in us selling your second hand saddle, please read our terms and conditions.
