The Fairfax Andrew Hoy XC saddle features a two-part panel that prevents the front of the saddle from being pulled down and in. The main part of the panel bears the rider's weight and the front part under the rider's knee is separated to de-restrict the shoulder girdle muscles. The adjustable blocks under the rider’s knee enables the muscles that activate the shoulder to move freely. They come in two depths that can quickly be adapted to suit the horse. If the horse has an asymmetrical shoulder development, you can use the shallower block on the larger shoulder to enable the rider to sit squarely.

The Fairfax Classic GP benefits from all the features common to every Classic saddle (see design details below), plus the following comfort-enhancing details.
Developed with 2014 WEG team silver medalist Gareth Hughes to enable the rider to feel a closer connection with their horse.
The seat is precisely formed to align the rider more forwards and ‘in’ over the horse’s centre of balance, so allowing the horse to move more freely behind. The surface mounted thigh blocks are specifically designed to give the rider greatly enhanced support without restricting their position.
This saddle has now been discontinued by Fairfax so any orders will be while stocks last.
The Fairfax Jump saddle was developed and tested using the same pressure mapping and gait analysis technology. It incorporates a patented new panel design, which allows the horse’s shoulder greater freedom of movement and so enables greater knee flexion. A trial involving eight international riders and a gait analysis high-speed camera proved that this saddle enables the horse to be neater in front.
Our XC saddle features our advanced split-panel design. The purpose is to separate the weight-bearing part under the rider’s seat from the part under the rider’s knee, which lies over the shoulder, therefore giving the shoulder independence of movement. A freer shoulder allows the horse to move more naturally and flex both shoulder and knee joints freely. This makes it neater in front giving at least 5cm more fence clearance.
Following the unprecedented success of the Fairfax Gareth (developed to give WEG team silver medalist Gareth Hughes a closer connection with his horse), the Rebecca has been launched for riders who appreciate a little more style. Added glamorous touches include snake print embellishment on the cantle and stirrup loop, grey welting and stitch lines plus the addition of buttery-soft premium French calf leather.
The Rebecca’s open and balanced seat is precisely formed to align the rider over the horse’s centre of balance, allowing for the most subtle of aids and adjustments. Rider comfort is further enhanced by the surface mounted thigh blocks which support the rider’s position without restricting the knee. Recessed stirrup leathers allow for a closer contact with the horse’s sides, as do removable and adjustable blocks on the underside of the flap.
For the horse, the perfect fit is assured thanks to Fairfax’s unique panel (patent applied for), shaped to allow the horse’s shoulder girdle muscles to move freely without restriction. A changeable gullet system and British wool flocking that can be adjusted by the saddler on site both add to this saddle’s versatility. The panel is lined with Prolite to distribute pressure and provide cushioning and comfort for the horse.
Additionally, the girthing can be tailored to the horse’s requirements with a unique triple-billet system. Three girthing options (both on and off the point) can be used in combination with a slimline, self-levelling balance strap to optimise saddle stability without impeding his natural movement.
This saddle was designed and tested using pressure mapping and gait analysis.
Designed specifically with show jumpers in mind, the panel concept de-restricts the shoulder and knee apparatus in flight, allowing the horse greater freedom of movement and therefore increased clearance over the fence. The slim-line design improves the rider’s sense of connectivity with their horse, aiding unity and a closer leg contact.
The Fairfax Spirit Jump benefits from all the features common to every saddle in the Performance Range (see design details below), plus the following features:
