**It is very important not to pull the girth straps up until the straps have been put through the buckles, not just the keepers**
Kept secret to give a competitive advantage to Team GBR
Abstract from The Veterinary Journal
The Fairfax Girth is a luxury item and needs maintaining well. The girth should be well cleaned with warm water after use and fed with leather feeder after every use. Glycerin and oil should not be used as they seal the sweat into the leather and this is what causes the leather to crack over a period of time.

Narrow Gauge for horses/ponies with less than 20cm between front legs
The only girth to have been tested during its development in conjunction with the BEF World Class Programme. During squad training, Centaur Biomechanics gait analysis was used to test the effect of the girth on the horses’ performance. “We recorded up to 33% improvement in forelimb protraction and general range of motion of every elite horse we tested” *
*results were compared to the horses’ own girth Russell Guire of Centaur Biomechanics

We know how important it is to find the right girth for your horse. Our Girth Bank gives you the chance to try before you buy, with peace of mind.
You’ll have 14 days to try your chosen girth at home.
Light use is fine, but it must be returned clean and in good condition.
If it comes back dirty or damaged, a small cleaning/repair fee may apply.
If you return your girth within the trial, you’ll get a 90% refund (we keep 10% as the trial fee).
Refunds are processed once the girth is safely back with us and checked.
Late returns are charged at £2 per day (up to 14 days). After that, we can’t refund.
You cover return postage, or you can request a £6 prepaid returns label (deducted from your refund).
If you’d like to try a different size or style, no problem!
Each girth trial carries its own trial fee. For example, if you try a 24" and then exchange for a 26", the 24" trial fee is deducted before the 26" is dispatched.
We’ll cover postage on your first exchange (sending the new girth out to you). Any further exchanges will be posted at your cost.
Excessive wear or damage may reduce your refund further.
The scheme is available to UK Mainland customers only.
The Girth Bank is designed to give you confidence and flexibility when choosing — while keeping the service fair and sustainable for everyone.
